AMSTERDAM - A Dutch company, Mars One being the service provider space travel. Reportedly, the company will open the offer commercial flights to Mars and look forward to building a community of settlers on the red planet.
Reported by the BBC on Wednesday (17/04/2013), is not surprising to Mars One candidate has been getting thousands of applicants. However, it reportedly will be a one-way, where when living on Mars, they will not come back again to Earth (one-way trip).
Unlike missions to be planned some time ahead, where astronauts will fly to Mars and could return to Earth in 2018. Prospective applicants should really be considered a physical and mental readiness.
Before prospective applicants actually flown and life on Mars, it must be tough, adaptable, resourceful and able to work in teams. The project will be broadcast on television, ranging from the selection process, landing and so on.
Founder of Mars One, Bas Landorp explain why this would be a one-way flight. During the trip approximately 7-8 months, astronauts lose bone and muscle mass.
After spending a lot of time in the weak gravitational field of Mars, according to Bas, will be impossible to adjust back to the Earth's strong gravity. Applicants or applicants who want to stay living on Mars will be trained physically and psychologically.
The team will use existing technology to all aspects of the project. Energy will be generated from the solar panels, water will be recycled and the astronauts can grow their own food. (FMH)
